The SEMA Show represents the $44.6 billion automotive aftermarket. It is the only trade show that brings together every segment of the automotive industry, from hot rods and off-roads, to mobile electronics and collision repair.

With more than 2,400 exhibiting companies and attendees from all over the world, the SEMA Show is where the hottest, newest automotive products debut.

Attending the SEMA Show:

Qualifying for Media Credentials:

Media credentials are reserved exclusively for working members of the media, including print, broadcast, radio, or online. In order to maintain a B2B environment conducive for buyers and sellers to do business, media credentials are only available to media in the automotive industry or those that cover small businesses or another relevant topic. Bloggers, influencers and new media are welcomed and invited to apply for media credentials.

Qualifying materials may be required to: 1) Verify that the company is an editorial/media body that covers the SEMA industry, its members, or its products, and 2) Verify that the applicant is associated with the company.

Prior year’s approval does not automatically qualify an individual for media credentials and updated qualifying materials may be required. Public relations and marketing personnel representing manufacturers do not qualify for media credentials, nor do video production companies representing exhibitors or those that solicit and charge companies to be covered. Approved individuals who abuse their media privileges or who misrepresent themselves or aid others in obtaining their media passes risk having their credentials revoked, and their names banned from attending the SEMA Show in future years.

Keep in mind that as the SEMA Show approaches the approval process may be delayed, so we encourage media to apply for their credentials as soon as registration opens around May each year.

Navigating the SEMA Show:

  • Show floor access: At the SEMA Show, credentialed media have access to the Show floor during show hours and a half-hour early on all four days of the SEMA Show (Tuesday, Nov. 5-Friday, Nov. 8). Exhibiting media receive "Exhibiting Media" badges, providing them with access to the Show floor during exhibitor move-in and move-out hours as well.
  • Press Conference and Media Events: The official press conference schedule features breaking news and announcements during the Show. The schedule is set up to make it easy for media to navigate from one press conference to the next. Click here to view the press conference schedule.
  • New Product Photography: Throughout the Show, media visiting the New Products Showcase can receive detailed information and photos for products selected. Simply utilize the scanning devices to select the products desired, and receive a custom list with company name, product description and photos. It’s the easiest, most efficient way to cover the SEMA Show.
  • Media Center: Media are also able to write and file stories in the SEMA Show Media Center, Room S229 of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Click here for directions to the Media Center to pick up media credentials.

Policy Reminders:

  • Photography and Video: Photography and video of exhibitor booths and/or products require permission from the respective exhibitor. No additional permits or credentials are needed for media taking still photography. Those filming video will require a video permit. Be sure to select the video option when applying for media credentials.
  • Drones/Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs): Due to the proximity to the McCarran International Airport, FAA regulations prohibit drones/UAVs of any kind to be flown at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Drones/UAVs are NOT allowed at the SEMA Show and will be confiscated until show end (after the SEMA Cruise).
